Real Estate - Eastern States
The states that make up the east coast are where the United States was first established and where the thirteen colonies gained sovereignty from the English. These states hold so much of our history and provide and today provide an outstanding place to live.
The weather in the east varies a bit depending on how far north on the coast you live. Maine of course is famous for its lobster but offers many other adventures as well. The substantial winter storms that blast the east coast make the winter months a bit chilly. The weather throughout the year makes for four distinct seasons, which is something particularly attractive to those who enjoy some change every few months. The falls on the east coast are wonderful, with the leaves changing to bright, beautiful colors and days slowly getting shorter.
The first thought related to the east coast that comes to mind is often New York City. The Statue of Liberty, massive reuben sandwiches, the Late Show, and the Yankees are all staples of New York City. There is also Broadway, Times Square, the Hamptons, Central Park and many more famous attractions offered up by the Big Apple. Housing in New York City is an attraction in itself. There is everything from high rise studios to a cottage in the Hamptons and everything in between depending on your liking.
A bit further down the coast lies the wonderful city of Boston. New England clam chowder and Fenway Park are just a couple things that come to mind when thinking of Boston, but for others there are hundreds of reasons to love Boston. Cape Cod, or “The Cape” and Martha’s Vineyard are also picturesque locales ideal for vacation homes. The blue waters of the Atlantic lead to pretty sand beaches and dunes covered in whispy grasses.
The nation’s capitol, Washington D.C. is also a wonderful area of residence for many Americans. The historic monuments and the White House are some of many must see attractions in the District of Columbia. A bit outside the capitol and into Virginia rests some historic battle grounds of the Civil War that are also a fascinating site to see.
The east coast offers some fabulous scenery and great places to live. If you are in the market for buying or selling on the east coast we have provided some resources that you may find helpful.
