The Pacific Ocean creates a temperate environment in the Bay Area, with summers reaching the 80s and winters rarely dropping below the high 40s. The Sierra Mountains receive over 400 inches of snow each winter but warm up to comfortable lake weather in the summer. With these conditions it is possible to pull off the "Northern California day trip," consisting of skiing in the morning, surfing or wakeboarding in the afternoon and home for dinner!
